Step by step
How a long-distance move runs
An interstate move is a scheduling problem as much as a lifting problem. Here is how the route is planned before anyone picks up a box.
Step 1: Inventory and route review
We walk the whole house — by video or in person — because on an interstate move the shipment has to be priced and planned as one load, not estimated by the hour.
Step 2: Delivery window in writing
You get a pickup date and a delivery window before you commit, along with the paperwork an interstate move requires.
Step 3: Load and inventory
Everything is padded and wrapped in the room, then inventoried as it goes on the truck so there is a list to check against on arrival.
Step 4: The drive
Your shipment travels against the inventory it was loaded on, and you have one phone number to call while it is moving.
Step 5: Delivery and check-in
We unload, reassemble what we took apart, place furniture room by room, and check the inventory back with you before the crew signs off.
The routes
Where the long haul goes
These are the destination states the corridor runs to from Florida, planned out of the Dania Beach hub. Moves between any two states we serve, and within each of them, are available too.
Every move listed here originates in Florida and is planned out of the Dania Beach hub. If your destination is not one of the cities named, ask a coordinator about your route.
Questions
Long-Distance Moving questions
Do you have a location in Georgia or the Carolinas?
Florida is where Forward is based and where every move is coordinated from. Georgia and the Carolinas are destinations we run long-distance moves to, and moves within those states are available too. Ask a coordinator about your specific route.
Who is handling my shipment between Florida and the destination?
It is one job under one coordinator, moving on Forward's own operating authority and insurance and against one inventory from load to delivery. Whether the crew at either end is employed by Forward directly or working under the Forward name, Forward is the company accountable for the shipment.
How do I know everything arrived?
Your shipment is inventoried as it goes on the truck, and you check it back against that same inventory at delivery before the crew signs off.
How long will my shipment be in transit?
Around 3–5 business days from pickup to delivery, whether the destination is Georgia, North Carolina or South Carolina. Your delivery window is confirmed in writing in your estimate and moving documents.
How is a long-distance move priced?
Primarily by shipment volume in cubic feet, the route and distance, and the services you add. A 30% deposit reserves the move, and the remaining payment terms are confirmed in your estimate.
What valuation or insurance coverage is included?
Both Full Value Protection and Released Value Protection options are offered. The option that applies to your move, and its terms, are confirmed in your moving documents.
