What to expect

How a move to Charlotte runs

The route is the product. Here is what is fixed before your shipment leaves Florida.

  • One job, the whole way

Quoted, scheduled and delivered as a single job against a single inventory, under Forward's own interstate operating authority and insurance.

  • Written estimate for the route

The whole job — load, drive, delivery — is priced before your move date is confirmed.

  • Storage if dates slip

If the closing moves, your shipment can wait in storage in Florida and be redelivered on the new date.

  • Unpacked and reassembled

Furniture we took apart in Florida goes back together in North Carolina, in the room you choose.

Notes on the Charlotte run

  • The drive

Charlotte is roughly 700 miles by road from our Dania Beach hub, mostly on I-95, I-26 and I-77.

  • Pickup to delivery

Around 3–5 business days, with your delivery window confirmed in writing in your estimate.

  • Moving within North Carolina

Already in North Carolina? A move from Charlotte to Raleigh, or anywhere else in the state, is available too.

  • Charlotte to Florida

The route runs both ways, so a move from Charlotte back to Florida is the same long-distance service in reverse.

Questions

Florida to Charlotte, NC questions

Do you have a location in Georgia or the Carolinas?

Florida is where Forward is based and where every move is coordinated from. Georgia and the Carolinas are destinations we run long-distance moves to, and moves within those states are available too. Ask a coordinator about your specific route.

Who is handling my shipment between Florida and the destination?

It is one job under one coordinator, moving on Forward's own operating authority and insurance and against one inventory from load to delivery. Whether the crew at either end is employed by Forward directly or working under the Forward name, Forward is the company accountable for the shipment.

How do I know everything arrived?

Your shipment is inventoried as it goes on the truck, and you check it back against that same inventory at delivery before the crew signs off.

How long will my shipment be in transit?

Around 3–5 business days from pickup to delivery, whether the destination is Georgia, North Carolina or South Carolina. Your delivery window is confirmed in writing in your estimate and moving documents.

How is a long-distance move priced?

Primarily by shipment volume in cubic feet, the route and distance, and the services you add. A 30% deposit reserves the move, and the remaining payment terms are confirmed in your estimate.

What valuation or insurance coverage is included?

Both Full Value Protection and Released Value Protection options are offered. The option that applies to your move, and its terms, are confirmed in your moving documents.
