Credentials

Licenses and operating authority

Check any mover before you hand over your household. These are Forward's registration numbers, and what each one actually means.

Federal authority

Confirmed registrations

These are the numbers to check us against. Any legitimate interstate mover will give you both without hesitation.

USDOT

4438821

A USDOT number identifies a carrier in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's records. It is how you look up a mover's registration, insurance filing and safety record.

MC

1747576

An MC (Motor Carrier) number is the operating authority a carrier needs to transport goods across state lines for hire. It is the number that matters for a move between states.

State authority

Florida intrastate registration

Moves that start and end inside Florida fall under state rather than federal rules, which means a separate Florida registration number.

FDACS

IM4132

Florida requires intrastate household-goods movers to register with the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and to show that IM registration number in advertising. It is the number that matters for a move that starts and ends inside Florida.

How to check

Verify before you book

You can look up any USDOT or MC number in the FMCSA's public records to confirm a carrier is registered and has insurance on file. It is worth doing for every quote you collect, not just ours.

Be wary of any mover that will not give you a number, quotes a price without reviewing your inventory, or asks for a large deposit up front.

What we do

Where we operate

Florida is our hub — Forward is based in Dania Beach and every move is coordinated from here. Moving services are offered in thirteen states along the Atlantic coast under Forward's own interstate operating authority and insurance.
