Step by step
How an office move runs
The move itself is the short part. Most of the work is the plan that keeps your business open on Monday.
Step 1: Site survey, both ends
We look at both buildings: dock access, elevator sizes, stair turns, and what building management requires from a moving company.
Step 2: Floor plan and labels
You approve a numbered plan for the new space, and every desk, crate and monitor is labeled to a destination on it.
Step 3: Paperwork and access
Certificates of insurance, dock reservations and elevator windows are arranged before move day, not on it.
Step 4: Move outside business hours
Crews work the window you choose — evening, overnight or weekend — so the office closes in one place and opens in the other.
Step 5: Set up and walkthrough
Workstations are reassembled, equipment is placed to the plan, and we walk the floor with you before signing off.
Questions
Commercial Relocation questions
Do we have to shut down for the move?
That is what the schedule is for. Commercial moves are normally run after hours or across a weekend so your team leaves one office on Friday and works from the new one on Monday.
Can you provide a certificate of insurance for our building?
Yes. Send us the requirements from building management and we produce the certificate before move day — most commercial buildings will not release a loading dock without one.
How do we know what ends up where?
Workstations and crates are labeled to a floor plan you approve in advance, so each item is delivered to a numbered destination rather than sorted out on arrival.
How are commercial moves priced?
Each commercial move is custom-quoted from the job: shipment volume, labor, transportation, access, and scheduling. The figure is confirmed in writing before you commit.
Do you disconnect and reconnect IT equipment?
Forward can transport and relocate office IT equipment, and reconnection can also be provided when it is specifically agreed and included in the estimate.
Is there a weekend or after-hours premium?
No automatic weekend or after-hours premium. Pricing depends on the scope, crew requirements, timing, and any special building or access requirements. A custom quote is provided before the move.
Planning an office move?
Send us both addresses and your target date. We will survey each site and build the schedule around your operating hours.
